GillPierson's co-founder brought deep experience and insight
Michael J. Gill grew up in Pasadena and continues to live in the area with Penny, his wife of 43 years. He retired in 2019 and encourages former clients to contact Elizabeth.
Before retiring, he had a long career as an attorney, earning the AV® Preeminent™ rating (5.0/5.0) from Martindale Hubbell for his competence and ethics in the practice of law. Mike was often asked to speak about estates, trusts, conservatorships and financial elder abuse, and was a Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB) speaker and editor. He was a partner in the Los Angeles firm of Seaver & Gill, LLP for 15 years until R. Carlton Seaver was appointed to the bench in 2008. As a Probate Court Mediator he achieved a 95% success rate in the course of over 100 mediations. He graduated from the University of Redlands in 1966, then earned his law degree from Loyola Law School in 1969. He was admitted to the California Bar Association in 1970. His pro bono activities included working with Public Counsel, the largest pro bono law firm in the nation, in association with All Saints Church. |
